PHOTO DESCRIPTION: An all-time high in popularity and perhaps... one of the most memorable pictures in the history of VSA "franchise" at Wichita State. Five young men posing for a picture just right before the 1995 Tết magazine was completed and about to be sent to press service. Standing from left: Minh Sơn, Ðức Huy, Hoàng Huy, Ngọc Anh, and Chris Dương. The picture was taken at an "unknown location" (preferrably), where it was often referred to as biệt thự đường số 3 (translation: Villa on Third street). This was the place where all the VSA staff got together to "slug it out with magazine and pound it to death." During the course of two months, the "magazine place" was littered with trash (nothing dirty, just too many miscellaneous items being distributed for misplacement... everywhere), and nobody bothered to clean up the mess, except for the owner who had to live (and then "re-lived" again) in this apartment. Notably in the picture was Huy Võ (center, wearing a criss-cross shirt), our VSA president (1994-95), Huy Võ. And standing to the far right was Chris Dương, founder and administrator of the Wichita State University's VSA website. |
